Last week!
Whew—last week kicked my butt. Julianne’s pneumonia rebounded and she was out again (but she’s mostly better this week! YAY.) Since I cover for her when she’s out, this meant doing double duty between my work and the pastry needs again. A lot of important things that needed to get done didn’t, and what few boundaries I’ve built between me and the shop dissolved. I’ve also had some weird new health stuff going on the past few weeks which means more doctors, more tests, more question marks—and the physical stuff really wrecks my mental health.
Honestly, I’m feeling very down and scattered. Everything piled on all at once and sorting through it all feels really isolating. As a few people have said, I’m just “going through it” right now. But while being a disabled business owner is hard—aren’t we all going through it all the time? Being alive in 2025 is taxing in and of itself.
All of this has been super hard for me to say out loud (I’m quite bad at understanding my feelings). But talking it out with friends who are also small business owners and/or disabled has brought so much relief. We’re all on the same rollercoaster. And if you are also going through any of the same shit, you are also not alone.
Anyway, I’m doing my best to take it easy this week, be nicer to myself, reset some boundaries, and just keep talking it out. The things that need to get done will get done, and everything else can be delegated or pushed a tiny bit.

This week!
We’re having difficulty sourcing good mint right now for our Limonana Sorbet. Our supplier uses three different purveyors and it’s a Russian roulette of which we’ll receive. The past week, the ming we’re getting is really herby for some reason? I’m not happy with the results and we’re working on getting the right mint ASAP. (In the interim, if you know anyone with a great mint hookup, hit me up!). So Limonana might be out later in the week than usual.
We’ve got a major fave in pints this week that we don’t make often. So if you’ve been coming since the pop-up days, you know to stock up on Drunk in Love.
Also: Restock at Of All Places! We’ll have MF Monster and maNILLA Dreams in stock there so go scoop it up along with all the other cute and delicious things they sell there!
Coming up!
On May 3rd, we’re having a party at Redfield Cider Bar across the street with our homies Bar Pie Guys! We’ll be scooping our new cider-inspired ice cream flavor at Redfield and will have pints of it at our shop. I’m currently morphing 35 lbs worth of apples into apple butter and the name Apple Butter Jeans is being resurrected. I’m so very glad we didn’t waste that name on the flavor we inevitably threw out.
